K.P. Noushad Ali
K.P. Noushad Ali was born on March 29, 1978, at the District Hospital in Manjeri, Malappuram. The son of two school teachers, his childhood was shaped by classrooms, books, and constant movement across places such as Uppala and Kumbala in Kasaragod. Growing up in a home where learning was a way of life, he developed a deep curiosity about the world from an early age. His parents’ profession meant that education was never merely a routine—it was a value that quietly shaped his thinking and character.
It was during his high school years that reading became more than a habit for him; it became a window to understanding society. Books like Glimpses of World History and The Discovery of India opened up a wider world of ideas and politics. The writings and ideals of Jawaharlal Nehru left a deep impression on the young Noushad, nurturing in him a belief in pluralism, democracy, and social justice that would later guide his public life.
After completing his pre-degree from NSS College, Manjeri, he pursued a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Tirur Polytechnic. But even as he studied engineering, his mind was drawn to the life of public engagement. From his high school days he had been associated with the Kerala Students Union (KSU), and his years at Tirur Polytechnic saw him serve two consecutive terms as the KSU Unit President. The 1990s were turbulent years in campus politics, and Noushad’s commitment often came at a personal cost. He faced violence, police cases, and even imprisonment while standing firm in his convictions against injustice. Those experiences only strengthened his resolve to remain active in public life.
Over the years, his political journey grew steadily through dedication and grassroots engagement. In 2007 he became the General Secretary of the Areecode Block Congress Committee. Two years later, in 2009, he was selected as one of the twelve young leaders from Kerala chosen through Rahul Gandhi’s Talent Hunt programme, in which more than 650 Youth Congress members had participated. This recognition marked an important moment in his journey, bringing him into the Youth Congress State Committee and widening his role in organisational work.

Became KSU Unit President at Tirur Polytechnic, serving two consecutive terms and actively leading student movements.
Faced violence, police cases, and imprisonment during campus political struggles while opposing injustices and defending democratic student politics.
Appointed General Secretary of the Areecode Block Congress Committee, marking his formal entry into organisational leadership within the Congress.
Selected as one of the 12 Youth Congress leaders from Kerala through Rahul Gandhi’s Talent Hunt Programme, among 650+ participants, and became a Youth Congress State Committee Member.

Appointed General Secretary of the Malappuram District Congress Committee (DCC) under DCC President E. Muhammad Kunju.

Elevated as KPCC General Secretary, continuing his role in strengthening party organisation across the state.
